Doctoral researchers and student organisation activities

By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content. You do not have to select a degree programme to see the Open University's instructions.

Doctoral researchers can also participate in student organisation activities and join the Student Union of the University of Helsinki. By participating in the student organization activities, you can have a say in issues pertaining to doctoral researchers at the University and will get to know other students.

Student Union of the University of Helsinki (HYY)

Membership in the Student Union of the University of Helsinki is voluntary for licentiate and doctoral students, and you can join at any time of the academic year. Doctoral researchers are not entitled to Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) services or travel discounts. However, there is still a wide range of other benefits and services available to doctoral researchers. More information about the Student Union membership and its activities is available on the Student Union website. Detailed information on paying the Student Union membership fee is available in the attendance registration instructions for doctoral students.
