What kind of experiences have previous exchange students had? What would be the best exchange destination? Is it worth it going on one? On Instagram, on the Exchange Stories blog-site and Facebook, check accounts from people who have been on an exchange before you, and get inspired to go on one yourself!

Instagram

On the Exchange Services Instagram account uhgoabroad students currently on exchange from University of Helsinki describe their studies, everyday life and free time at their exchange destination, and share their best tips for future exchange students.

Are you interested in updating our Instagram-account? The International exchange services recruit students to update the account via an email you will receive from us before your exchange. In addition to the posts you share, you will also have a story week. You will receive a 50e reward for your work.

If you don't want to update our account, but still wish to share your experience, use the hashtag #uhgoabroad when posting the photos from your exchange.

Exchange stories

Should I take the bike or use public transit during my exchange? Is it very different studying in another country? How do I find housing? Answers to these and many more practical questions you can find on the website Exchange stories from around the world. Here we have gathered exchange stories from students who have already been on an exchange - there are stories from many different countries and universities, and you can sort them by faculty or destination country.

Videos

In addition to exchange stories you can also watch this video (in Finnish), where those who have been on an exchange speak of their experiences.
