The studios and rooms are reserved for international students moving to Finland who have been accepted to study for a Bachelor's or Master's degree at the University of Helsinki.
- The application period starts on 8 April and ends on 15 May.
- Offers are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you are applying for accommodation from this quota, please do not apply for unfurnished accommodation from Hoas until you know whether you have received an offer from this quota.
Terms and conditions regarding Hoas and Unihome apartments
- Unihome and Hoas can send you an offer only once they have received a copy of your emailed letter of acceptance to the University of Helsinki.
- You must pay a deposit of 500 euros when accepting the housing offer.
- The residence period is only for the first study year with a fixed-term contract.
- It is not possible to receive the Kela housing allowance to the Unihome accommodation studios, even if you would otherwise be eligible for it (most international students are not)!
NB! The fixed-term contract is a legally binding contract in Finland and cannot be terminated earlier under any circumstances. This means that when you accept the housing offer, you agree to pay the rent until the end of the contract, even if you decide to move out earlier.
At the end of your tenancy, you can apply for a standard unfurnished apartment from Hoas. Please note, however, that neither Unihome nor Hoas can guarantee that they will be able to offer you a property after your fixed term contract has ended.
