If you are coming from abroad to the University of Helsinki as an exchange student or as a visiting student, we can help you in matters concerning your application process and Learning Agreement.

If you are a degree student at the University of Helsinki, we can help you in matters concerning studies abroad and traineeships abroad as well as flexible study rights (JOO) for degree students.

How can you contact the International Exchange Services?

Consulting hours on campuses

During your exchange or degree studies, you can book an appointment with International Exchange Services or just drop in during our office hours. During application periods you can reach us also in chat service. You find the opening hours below. 

If you are a degree student at the University of Helsinki and need help with choosing an exchange destination, please participate in a "How to choose an exchange destination"-event. If you already have chosen your destination but need help with your application, please come to one of our Application clinics.

Drop-in hours are offered via chat until further notice. Our chat service is open Mondays at 13-15 and Thursdays at 10-12 replacing the drop-in hours on the campuses.

Book an appointment

If you want to have a longer discussion during your exchange or degree studies, you can book an individual appointment to International Exchange Services. When you book an appointment, please let us know what you want to discuss, so that we can prepare for the meeting. You should book an appointment according to your study programme. In the Autumn term, appointments are arranged online (teams/zoom) or on the phone. Please select "International exchange services e-counselling session" from the list to book an online appointment. International exchange specialists will send you an invitation to the meeting or, if you prefer, call you during the booked time. While booking, please mention if you prefer a phone call over an online meeting.

Drop-in hours are offered via chat for now because of the exceptional circumstances which have been declared at the University of Helsinki

Our chat service is open on Mondays at 13-15 and Thursdays at 10-12.
