New academic administration system introduced at the University of Helsinki

By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content. You do not have to select a degree programme to see the Open University's instructions.

In May 2021, the University of Helsinki will adopt a new academic administration system called Sisu. The switch affects several electronic University services during 15-30 May, and interruptions to them are possible.

Impact on studying at the Open University

Due to the deployment of the new academic administration system

  • Registration for Open University courses is not possible from 15 to 30 May 2021.
  • University of Helsinki user accounts cannot be activated from 17 to 30 May 2021
  • Courses completed at the Open University cannot be registered from 17 to 30 May 2021
  • Completed study modules cannot be registered from 17 to 30 May 2021
  • In the latter half of May, disruptions can occur in other electronic University services as well.
  • In early June, there may be congestion in the registration of completed studies and study modules.

You can attend MOOC-courses normally despite the deployment.

Ongoing courses not affected

Studying in ongoing courses will continue as usual, regardless of the system switch.

Registration for MOOCs is also possible during the switch.

Review the completed studies in My Studyinfo

During the switch, you can review your completed studies in the My Studyinfo service.

Details of your completed studies can be downloaded from the system or, if necessary, shared with an employer or another party.
