Each University of Helsinki doctoral candidate will have an automatically created researcher profile in the University’s public Research Portal once they are granted the right to complete a doctoral degree. Researchers can use their profile page as their CV wherever they go. Your profile increases the visibility of your publications and other scholarly activities, while contributing to the University’s publication numbers, which affects the funding granted to the University.

You should begin updating your profile with information on publications, projects and other research activities as soon as you embark on your doctoral studies. You should also add your other CV details to the front page of your profile to ensure that your growing CV as a researcher is readily accessible online.

Tuhat system

You can update your profile in the Tuhat system. Your personal profile and user rights are based on information in the contract stored in the HR data system or, if you are not employed by the University of Helsinki, information recorded in connection with your right to complete doctoral education.

Instructions for updating your profile are available on Flamma.

Research Portal

The University’s public Research Portal contains all the information stored in the system and defined as being public. You can share your profile in the portal, for example, in funding applications or other suitable contexts.

Self-archiving

When updating information on your publications in your profile, you can also self-archive your publications in the University’s open digital repository. The University requires all researchers on its payroll to self-archive their publications and strongly recommends that all other doctoral researchers do so as well. Self-archiving ensures that your publications are readily available.

For further information, please read the instructions for publishing, open science and self-archiving.
