By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content. You do not have to select a degree programme to see the Open University's instructions.

When you are enrolled as attending student, you can pick up the year tag for your student card beginning on August 1. Year tags can be picked up from the service points listed below. At the beginning of the new academic year, please primarily use one of the temporary pick-up points listed below.

  • The service points are situated in in the city center, Meilahti and Viikki and Kumpula (opening at 26.8.2026). You can find detailed contact information and the service hours at the contact information page of  HelsinkiUni Help.

You need to bring your student card to the pick-up point when collecting the year tag.

You can collect a year tag from the Student Union and student service points only for a student card of the Student Union of the University of Helsinki, delivered by Frank or a previous supplier, for example Lyyra or Unicard. You cannot get a year tag for a card delivered by e.g. ISIC or cards of Student Unions of other universities.

Please note that if another person picks up the year tag on your behalf, they must present a letter of authorization. The authorized person needs to bring your student card to the pick-up point. If you have a student card that includes the Mastercard payment feature, you can only get the year tag by picking it up in person.
