Activating your user account
Once you have accepted the offered study place, your information will be saved to the University of Helsinki student register Sisu within a few weeks. You will be notified by email once your information has been saved.
Updating your personal information and contact details
You can update your contact details on Sisu or notify a Student service point.
How can I request a certificate of student status?
The certificate of student status is a free-of-charge certificate of attendance or non-attendance available to all degree students.
Housing for doctoral researchers
Are you moving to Helsinki? We strongly recommend that you start searching for a flat as soon as you have accepted the offered study place. There is a lack of housing in the Helsinki area and finding an available flat can take time.
Residence permits and hosting agreements for doctoral researchers
Citizens of countries outside the EU, Switzerland or Liechtenstein must apply for a residence permit. You will need a hosting agreement from the university as a part of your application.
Lunch at Unicafe for doctoral researchers
You can have an affordable lunch at the UniCafe cafeterias on all campuses. All doctoral researchers who have registered as attending are entitled to the postgraduate lunch discount at Unicafe.
