Paperpal is a scientific writing tool that uses artificial intelligence.
The paid version of the software is available for free trial by researchers, students and staff of the University of Helsinki during the May. You can log in to the service using the helsinki.fi email address at the Paperpal site:
- Click on 'Get Started' button to setup your email and password. Your trial will be activated automatically on registration from your university email ID (firstname.lastname@helsinki.fi)
- Click 'Explore' on 'Academic Writing Assistant' tab
- On the side bar that opens, click on 'Go to Paperpal for web'
The program will help you to brainstorm a topic, create a body and table of contents, and edit the text for better results, for example by suggesting more fluent expressions and synonyms. It includes language checking and plagiarism detection functions and can be used to make translations. If you want to submit an article to the magazine, the software can write an email to the editorial team on your behalf.
