Aleksandria pop up workshops continue in the spring term - first on Tuesday 21 January
The Learning Centre, which will open later this year, will be developed in pop-up workshops together with students and staff. Changes have been made to Aleksandria's renewal plans based on feedback and suggestions from the workshops.
The first workshop of the spring term will take place on Tuesday 21 January from 11 am to 1 pm in the entrance hall of the Kaisa House, near the staircase (3rd floor). The January workshop provides an opportunity to comment on what makes a workspace sensory and user-friendly. As in previous occasions, the current plans of Aleksandria will also be on display.
The following workshops will take place during the the spring in the entrance hall of the Kaisa House:
- Tue 18 February from 11 am to 1 pm
- Tuesday 18 March from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Tue 22 April from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Several changes to the original plans made in response to feedback
Aleksandria's renewal plans received a lot of feedback at last year's pop-up workshops. In addition, a customer survey the library did last year raised many requests for the new facilities. The aim is to fulfill as many of these wishes and suggestions as possible in the new Aleksandria. When planning the new Aleksandria, the different life situations of students and ergonomics have been better taken into account.
Based on the feedback, the learning centre will include a family room and ergonomic workstations with height adjustable desks and docking screens. Feedback has also led to changes to the original plans, for example to provide more quiet working areas and opportunities to participate in distance learning. The current plans will be readily available at the workshops during the spring.
