Apply for Una Europa Data Science & AI Challenge for Social Welfare in Madrid

Are you interested in ethical AI and its societal impact? 

The Una Europa Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Challenge for Social Welfare, a five-day workshop in Madrid, offers a unique opportunity for doctoral researchers and early-career researchers from the University of Helsinki to learn about developing socially responsible AI solutions. 

In this challenge, you will have the chance to work in an international environment with top researchers, industry experts, and AI ethics specialists. 

The workshop will take place from July 21st to 25th, 2025, organised by Universidad Complutense de Madrid. 

We are looking for participants from doctoral researchers and early-career researchers at the University of Helsinki, from various interdisciplinary fields such as data science, artificial intelligence, law, ethics, and social sciences. 

The workshop fee is 127.5 euros, and participants are responsible for their own travel expenses to Madrid. Selected participants will be provided with free accommodation and meals by the organizer.

Financial support is available for selected participants to cover part of the expenses e.g. travel and workshop fee.
