Event: Dare to speak Swedish-campaign launch 3 November 2025, 12:00–14:00
The board for the Development of Swedish affairs and Teaching, and Swedish Affairs invite everyone at the University of Helsinki to participate in the launch of the Dare to Speak Swedish-campaign on Monday, 3 November, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) to 2:00 p.m. in the university's main building. Come and speak Swedish and take part in fun activities!
Dare to Speak Swedish-campaign aims to strengthen the position of Swedish at the University of Helsinki, create opportunities for students and staff to use their Swedish, and encourage everyone to dare to speak and write Swedish at the university in everyday life. The campaign is being run as part of the theme year ‘Year of Language Awareness’ and will continue until the end of the academic year.
During the campaign launch, you will learn more about the campaign and can participate in fun activities in Swedish. The launch is a drop-in event, so come and stay as long as you like! Enjoy a cup of coffee and a bun, and don't forget to pick up a patch, sticker or pin when you leave!
Target audience
The campaign launch is open to everyone at the University of Helsinki who wants to be inspired to use Swedish in everyday life.
Time and place
Monday, 3 November 2025, 12:00 p.m (noon) to – 2:00 p.m. in the Johan Ludvig Runeberg (U2089) Main Building, second floor, Fabiansgatan 33.
Registration details
To help us estimate the amount of coffee and buns needed, please register via Lyyti (in Swedish) by 27 October 2025 at the latest. You are also welcome to show up without registering, but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that there will be enough to eat or drink.
