Small Changes for Good Health – student well-being day
Healthy weight management that supports overall wellbeing is something entirely different from extreme food restrictions, crash diets, and self-punishment. During Student Wellbeing Day, we’ll explore this multifaceted topic from the perspectives of nutrition, physical activity, oral health, and mental wellbeing — promoting health through small everyday actions.
- The media is full of weight loss tips and diets telling you to cut out all kinds of foods – sometimes even a whole food groups at the same time. Often, however, following such tips only leads to feelings of disappointment and failure. “Focusing on weight loss alone won’t lead to long term weight management”, read licensed dietitian Anette Palssa´s interview.
How to start being more physically active, if you've fallen out of the habit of regular exercise? Or what if you've never had a routine including physical activity before? What role does exercise play in weight maintenance? In this online meeting we discuss starting exercise and its benefits for overall well-being. Our expert is FSHS physiotherapist Johanna Häkkinen.

Students can ask questions from the expert either when they sign up for the meet or during the event itself.
