Interested in game development, sports, or travel? Apply for the CASSINI Hackathon
CASSINI Hackathon, taking place this November, challenges you to harness space technology and data to create innovative, consumer-focused solutions!
Could the next breakthrough in immersive gaming be your creation? Could your idea make planning trips abroad easier? Will future athletes thank your invention for boosting their performance? Apply now for CASSINI Hackathon!
The theme this autumn is “EU Space for Consumer Experience”, and it’s divided into three challenges for you to choose from. The challenges focus on immersive game development, sports, and travel, and are based on using, for example, satellite data to build the foundation for your ideas.
No prior experience with space technology is required – just a genuine interest in the topic.
Participants will compete for prizes including €5000 in cash and six months of expert mentoring, designed to help turn the ideas born during the hackathon into real-world solutions. You can apply solo or with friends as a team.
CASSINI Hackathon takes place simultaneously in ten EU countries, and the local organiser in Finland is the University of Helsinki’s entrepreneurship community, Helsinki Think Company.
- Is this for me? Yes – if you're a student, a recent graduate, or simply interested in games, travel, sports, and/or the possibilities of space technology.
- When and where? 7–9 November at Terkko Health Hub in Helsinki (Haartmaninkatu 4) and online.
- How to apply? More information and the application link can be found on our website! The application deadline is 31 October.
Before CASSINI, a “Out of this World” pre-event will be held, where you can meet other participants, hear about the experiences of the previous winner, and take part in a workshop. Welcome to prepare for the hackathon challenge!
The event will take place on 22 October at Terkko Health Hub from 6 PM to 8 PM.
