National Library's opening hours and services from 2 September 2024

Opening hours

The National Library is open Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri from 9 am to 6 pm, Wed from 9 am to 8 pm.

Self-service hours are Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri 9–10 am and 5–6 pm, Wed 9–10 am. The Special Collections Reading Room is closed during self-service hours.

Information desks in the Rotunda, the Special Collections Reading Room and the Slavonic Library are open Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri 10 am – 5 pm, Wed 10 am – 8 pm.

The information desk in the North Hall is open Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri 1–3 pm, Wed 1–3 pm and 5–8 pm. Assistance can be requested from Rotunda service desk 10 am – 12 pm.

Holiday and Early Closures

Fri 1 November 2024 Eve of All Saints' Day. Library closes at 4 pm.
Thu 5 December 2024 Eve of Finland's Independence Day. Library closes at 4 pm.
Fri 6 December 2024 Finland's Independence Day. Library is closed.
Mon 23 December 2024 Day before Christmas Eve. Library closes at 4 pm.
Tue–Thu 24–26 December 2024 Christmas. Library is closed.
Tue 31 December 2024 New Year's Eve. Library closes at 4 pm.
Wed 1 January 2025 New Year's Day. Library is closed.
Mon 6 January 2025 Epiphany. Library is closed.
