New at the University? The Ask Me! -campaign helps you get started

Where in the Porthania building is the P417 lecture room? What about the nearest UniCafe? Where can I borrow books or find a quiet place to study? 

The entire University community is very much looking forward to the new academic year and new members of the community. To help you get off to the best possible start and lower the threshold for asking for help, we've organized an Ask Me! campaign, taking place from 12 to 16 January 2026, to welcome new members of the University community. There will be a special focus on international students, as the majority of new students starting in January are exchange students.

During the campaign the pink Ask Me! logo guides those with questions in the right direction. You can spot the logo on university staff clothing and across the University's  information channels. If there’s anything you want to know, please don’t hesitate to ask! We welcome questions in English, Finnish and Swedish. 

The Ask Me! campaign is also present on the University's social media. The campaign will be introduced on the University of Helsinki's Instagram account @universityofhelsinki on Monday 12 January.
