Next Rector’s Morning Coffee on 1 December in Kumpula
Join Rector Sari Lindblom for an informal morning coffee! The session is open to 10 applicants selected at random, giving them the chance to chat face to face with the rector over refreshments. All members of the University community are welcome to put their names forward.
The first Rector’s Morning Coffee was organised at Think Corner in October. Participants included students and staff from across the University.
“We talked about a broad range of issues, from student wellbeing and traineeships for international students to research infrastructures, the goals of doctoral programmes and supporting research collaboration. Thanks to all participants for a great conversation,” says Rector Sari Lindblom.

The next Rector’s Morning Coffee session will be held on 1 December from 8.30 to 10.00 on Kumpula Campus.
How do you find working and studying at the University? What ideas do you have for improving the way it operates? How would you like the University to be in five years’ time? What do we need more or less of?
The morning coffee sessions give you the chance to discuss topics such as these directly with the rector. Each session is an informal conversation with a group from the University community, with no fixed agenda.
You are welcome to speak Finnish, Swedish and English.
Places allocated by draw: register your interest via Lyyti
Participants for the morning coffee sessions will be selected by draw from those who have expressed an interest. Each session will accommodate 10 people: five employees and five students. Keeping the group small means that everyone will have the opportunity to speak.
The next session will be on Tuesday, 1 December from 8.30 to 10.00 at Kumpula Campus. Please register your interest via Lyyti by Friday, 6 November, using your helsinki.fi email address.
Everyone who has expressed an interest will be notified by 16 November whether they have a place, and those selected will be asked to confirm their attendance.
The Rector’s Morning Coffee sessions are a new initiative, to be developed as we gain experience. The next session is scheduled for spring 2027.
