President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb discuss the topic “Europe Standing with Ukraine”

Programme Change: Welcome to follow the event in which President of the Republic of Finland and President of Ukraine will discuss with students and the university community of the University of Helsinki. The event is fully booked, but it can be followed via a livestream.
The seats in the Great Hall are fully booked, due to registration in advance, before the programme change.
A livestream from the event can be viewed at Think Corner (Yliopistonkatu 4) from 15.15 to 16.00. The stream is also available on the University YouTube channel.
Instructions for registered attendees:
Date and time: Wednesday, 19 March 2025 from 15.15 to 16.00 NB! The doors will open at 12.00, at which point attendees must be present. We cannot guarantee entrance to anyone arriving later, as security screening takes time.
Place: Great Hall of the University of Helsinki (NB! Entrance from Aleksanterinkatu 5)
We will check all participants’ registration details and identity on arrival at the Main Building. Kindly have your ticket and ID card (driving licences also accepted) ready before arriving at the entrance. Overcoats and bags must be left in the staffed cloakroom by the entrance. To speed up the security screening, phones are the only items permitted in the Great Hall.
Please note that entrance is through Aleksanterinkatu 5, as the main entrance from Senate Square is closed. An accessible entrance is located at Yliopistonkatu 2.
Arrangements in the Main Building on Wednesday, 19 March:
Due to security measures at the event:
- The old side of the Main Building will be closed for other activities all day.
- Exceptionally, no teaching will be organised in the old side of the Main Building on Wednesday. All teaching on the premises has been transferred to other facilities.
- Access rights to the old side of the Main Building will be temporarily unavailable to all University staff other than those working at the event.
- The old side can be accessed only by those who have registered for the event, through the entrance at Aleksanterinkatu 5. The interior corridors and access through Agora will be closed.
- In addition to security devices being installed in the morning on the old side.
- On the Aleksanterinkatu side, the queues may be long, taking up space on the street.
- Cafeteria Laurus in the Main Building will be open as usual and can be accessed from the Fabianinkatu side of the building.
