Bulletin 8.2.2024
  • A train driver strike will halt all long-distance, night and commuter trains on Monday, 12 February. The effects of the strike of traffic controllers on rail traffic on Tuesday, 13 February are still unknown.
  • A strike will close early childhood education services between Tuesday, 13 February and Wednesday, 14 February in the largest cities in both public and private sectors.
  • The strike will completely stop tram and metro services in Helsinki and will have a major impact on bus services on Wednesday 14 February and Thursday 15 February.

As before, these strikes can impact the everyday activities of staff and students.

Teachers are asked for flexibility in the situation and, where possible, to make use of e.g. distance learning. Please follow your email and any other communication tools in use on your courses (for example Moodle areas) for information on possible changes.

Services on campuses may also be affected by the strikes. We will update this bulletin if any new information on the impact of the strikes becomes available.
