Sustainability Accelerator: Collaborative brainstorming for a more sustainable university
In the Sustainability Accelerator, free-flowing ideas about a sustainable future are transformed into practical actions and activities that transform the university! The event is part of the Sparkle funding campaign, through which university members can apply for grants ranging from 1000 to 10,000 euros for their sustainability initiatives.
Do you have hopes, fumbling ideas or perhaps ready-made ideas on how our common university could or should be built to meet the challenges of a more sustainable future? Do you have skills, knowledge or networks that you think could be useful in the development and further refinement of various sustainability and inclusion initiatives? Perhaps your area of expertise has a strong vision and a burning desire to make a difference? Perhaps you can easily find creative connections between other ideas and ways of thinking? Or perhaps you're an instigator, an enthusiast, and a disruptor? Or perhaps you are more of a grounding force and the voice of "reason" where others are gasping for breath in a thin overhead cloud?
Whatever your strength, come and share it!
The Sustainability Accelerator invites you to join other university members in developing sustainability ideas into concrete proposals and initiatives to build a more sustainable future together. The initiatives that emerge from the Accelerator can be anything: events, activities, projects, ways to increase the multi-use of university facilities or find ways to reuse discarded objects and materials etc. The suggestions can be large or small in scale and can be inspired from inside or outside the box, or by losing the box altogether. All suggestions are welcome, as long as they go hand in hand with the UN Sustainable Development Goals in one way or another.
The event will include a two and a half hour facilitated process that will introduce you to other idea makers and cross-pollinate different ideas to make room for collaborative development. The event will be facilitated on the spot by people who know about and are responsible for the management and use of university facilities, discarded and recyclable materials, and the university's digital services, and who can be contacted directly to ask what is possible and who to contact to turn an idea into reality. The event will also be an opportunity to ask for advice on Sparkle Funding.
The event is open to all students and staff in different positions at the university. Coffee will be served at the event.
