UniSport will open a new sports center in Viikki in Autumn 2026
The long-awaited new UniSport sports center will open on the Viikki campus this autumn.
Construction work is currently underway, and the Viikki sports center is expected to be completed in September-October 2026. The center will be located in the E building (Latokartanonkaari 3) and, upon opening, will offer versatile opportunities for physical activity and well-being for the university community.
The new sports center on the Viikki campus will serve both students and staff, providing comprehensive opportunities to stay active in everyday life. The new facility will include, among other things:
- modern gym facilities for gym training
- a wide range of group exercise classes
- massage and other well-being services
- personal training and coaching
The Viikki sports center has been under planning for a long time, and its opening is eagerly anticipated:
“It’s great that we can bring such versatile sports services to the Viikki campus. The new center serves the entire university community and supports well-being in the midst of everyday life,” says Sports Director Mika Suikki.
A history wall will also be implemented in the UniSport sports center being built in Viikki. It will be illustrated by a student from one of the owner universities studying in a relevant field. The aim of the history wall is to make visible UniSport’s long and significant role in university sports. The application will open in the near future on UniSport’s website.
