Viikki Campus Library will reopen with reduced services on 31 August 2026
In early July, the Viikki Info Centre suffered water damage, which caused extensive damage to the floors 1 and K1 of the building. According to current estimates, the renovation work will take between four to six months.
The library premises will open on the 2nd floor of the Info Centre
Campus Library’s customer service desk and study areas will open on the 2nd floor of the building on Monday 31 August 2026. The library is open on weekdays (Mon–Fri) from 8.00 to 18.00, and the customer service desk from 10.00 to 17.00.
Access to the Info Centre is via the entrance on the Viikinkaari side, which is near the Viikki Science Park tram stop. For the time being, the library facilities on the second floor can only be accessed by elevator. There are signs directing you to the elevator from the entrance.
During the renovation you can borrow and return books, collect reserved items, and print, photocopy and scan at the library. The reading areas and group study rooms on the 2nd floor are also available. Floors K1 and 1 of the library are currently out of use. Please also note that the renovation work may cause loud noise from time to time.
Textbooks have been moved to Kaisa House, journals collection unavailable
Text books and short-term loans from Viikki have been temporarily moved to the main library at Kaisa House whilst drying and repair work is carried out. The books are located on the library’s basement floor K4, where they can be collected directly from the shelves. You can also reserve books via Helka and select Viikki as the pick-up location.
The academic journals of the library are unavailable while drying and repair work is underway. In urgent cases, you can inquire about journals and article copies by contacting the library’s interlibrary loan service.
