Welcome to the Finnish club!
Have you wanted to find new, fun ways to practice the Finnish language? Do you want to get to know other students and learn together in informal settings?
Come join the Finnish club! The Finnish Club is for all University of Helsinki students of all language levels! You’re warmly welcome with very beginner’s level skills. We will have activities and discussion that focus on different elements of Finnish, from conversation, pronunciation, culture and more. There will be separate tables for each skills level.
The Finnish club is organized by the University of Helsinki Language Centre together with the Bachelor’s Programme in the Languages and Literatures of Finland. Each event will be hosted by Language Centre’s international trainee and Finnish-language assistants, who are students helping fellow students in learning Finnish as a second language.
Participating in these club sessions is completely voluntary and will yield no ECTS credits for the participants. You can pop by once or twice or join all the sessions if you like.
The Finnish club meets every Wednesday at 16.15-17.45 at the Language Centre (Fabianinkatu 26), room 318 (ALMS-room), 3rd floor. You can check the meeting schedule here in the Study Services page.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact the club coordinator Michonne Rowley via email, michonne.rowley@helsinki.fi.
