What does your day-to-day life look like at the University? Take part in a photo collection campaign!

A collage of four everyday photos from around the University.
Bulletin 27.2.2024

‘Everyday life at the University photo collection’ is a campaign to collect photos taken by members of the University community of their everyday work or studies. The campaign will be carried out from 27 February to 26 March 2024.

Helsinki University Museum Flame will go through the photos submitted and store a selection of them in the Museum collection. In addition, photos will be compiled online for the University community to enjoy. The exact location will be disclosed on Flamma and in the Studies Service after the collection is completed. Photos may also be used as illustrations for internal communication in applicable topics.

The collection of photos will provide the most diverse image yet of the University for posterity and a snapshot for the University community of what it was like to work at the University in spring 2024. The collection is the first of its kind and may be repeated in the coming years at different seasons. The idea for the collection originated from Dean Pirjo Hiidenmaa’s wish to see University life recorded beyond festive events and celebrations.

You can participate by filling in and submitting a photo through an e-form (requires login with University username). If you wish to send several photos, please complete a separate form for each. Send the picture by 26th of March 2024.

All photos sent to the collection must have been taken with their subjects’ consent and require a right of use granted by the photographer.

Challenge your colleagues or fellow students to take part! What does your work or study day look like? You can take a photo of your favourite place at the University, your work or study environment or community. Or do you have a routine, a task or a hobby that would be interesting to introduce to the University community? How does your everyday look like at the Student Union and its' organisations? Take a photo and take part in illustrating life at the University!
