Would you like to learn ways to support your wellbeing and study skills? Can you identify where your stress is coming from?

These are some of the topics you can get support on through the courses offered by the University. Open to all university students, these courses are suitable for optional studies at bachelor or master level in any degree programme.

Towards better well-being and studying 11.3.–5.5.2024

The Towards better studies course (3 credits) provides a variety of ways to support your wellbeing and studies and teaches important skills for working life.

The course is based on training psychological flexibility and central themes include e.g., practicing self-compassion and relaxation and recognizing one’s ways of thinking.

The course includes independent online assignments and small group discussions. The next course in English will start on 11 March 2024, 15.15 PM Read more on the course page and register by March 3, 2024. The course is also available in Finnish.

Wellbeing and learning from groups

The course emphasizes supporting well-being and thereby promotes studying. During the course, the importance of social groups in well-being is recognized and social tools are developed to support well-being. In the course, the regulation of social skills and groups is practiced, through which the aim is to reduce loneliness and promote coping, well-being and support studying.

The course is based on the perspective of social identity. In the course, you will go through exercises in which you reflect on the meaning of social groups, map your own social groups and examine the relationship with already existing and possible new social groups. Every student is required to commit to the exercises of the course.

The course is suitable for optional studies in the bachelor's or master's phase of any degree program. The course lasts about seven weeks and has a total of six meetings.
