How do the natural environment and societies adapt to climate change? Participate in a multidisciplinary virtual exchange programme
This October, several universities are joining forces to organise a fully remote virtual exchange initiative exploring climate change from the points of view of the environment, societal adaptation and art.
This autumn, University of Helsinki students are welcome to participate in a virtual exchange programme on climate change. During the exchange week from 14 to 18 October, researchers from universities in different countries will present the latest research on climate change from the perspectives of disciplines such as the natural and social sciences as well as art.
The approach used will be based on debate and discussion. The purpose is for students to exchange views with their peers from other countries, universities and fields. The initiative is open to students of all major subjects and degree levels, and no in-depth knowledge of climate issues is required.
The language of the exchange week (worth 1 ECTS credit) will be English. Taking place between 10.00 and 13.00, the programme will include Zoom lectures as well as demos and practical testing of data visualisation tools in breakout rooms.
Virtual exchange is a good way to explore climate issues from multiple viewpoints. Participants can subsequently expand their skills, for example, with the Climate University’s MOOCs.
Up to 500 students will be admitted from the organising universities: the University of Helsinki, the University of Copenhagen, Odessa State Environmental University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and Yerevan State University. The exchange initiative is part of the EU-funded CLUVEX project.
