Exploring artificial intelligence sustainability at the next Sustainability and Responsibility Network meeting

The next meeting of the Sustainability and Responsibility Network, open to all university students and alumni, will be hybrid format at Zoom and at Kaisa-sali, on October 9, 2024, from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. 

Today, it is almost impossible to avoid news about artificial intelligence and the systems that use it. Perhaps you yourself use it every day as part of your working or studying day. But have you thought about the sustainability issues associated with AI and its use? Join us to hear about the ecological and social sustainability of AI at a network meeting.  You will also have the opportunity to hear about current sustainability and responsibility issues at the University of Helsinki. 

Event Agenda

3:30 – 3:45 PM Opening of the event and current sustainability and responsibility issues at the university 

3:45 – 4:45 PM The many aspects of AI sustainability

5:15–5:30 PM Joint discussion and closing of the event

The event will be organised as a hybrid. By attending on the spot, you can expand your networks and network with other participants. The participant experience in a streaming end may be more limited. 

Time: Wednesday, 9 October, 3.30 PM to 5.30 PM

Language: The common language of the event will be Finnish, with simultaneous interpretation in English for remote participants. You can participate in the discussion in Finnish, Swedish or English.   

Accessibility: The Library’s accessible entrances are the main entrance on Fabianinkatu and the lift from either the University of Helsinki metro station or Kaisaniemenkatu.
