Curious about how online learning affects your brain? What about your relationships with classmates or your academic achievements? We are collecting data for a study called Physically distant but digitally present: Brain-to-brain synchrony and social precence in digital collaborative learning! We are interested in what factors promote effective learning and connection with classmates during distance learning. 

You can participate either by yourself or bring a friend or classmate. The study takes place in the lab in Meilahti. The study involves playing a musical game, taking some tests and questionnaires, and doing a collaborative learning task together with a partner.

While you do these tasks, we record neurophysiological data. The study session in total takes about 2.5 hours, depending on the pair. 

You will receive movie tickets as a thank-you. 

One month after the lab session, you will be sent an email with a follow-up quiz that takes 5 minutes. 

If you are interested and meet the following criteria, please get in touch to learn more: 

  •     Participate in Finnish or English
  •     18-50 years old 
  •     Currently studying in at least one accredited university-level course 
  •     Are right handed 
  •     Are able to work on a computer 
  •     No neurological conditions, vision or hearing impairments
