Minna Lindgren’s book “Minun oopperani” is a sharp and passionate work on the history of the opera, and in her education a great service to all current and future friends of the opera. The “Soivat Kirjat” -concert in Cupola Hall features fragments of the operas presented in the book; the Magic Flute, La Traviata, Tosca and Tristan and Isolde interpreted by soprano Marjukka Tepponen, baritone Kevin Greenlawn and pianist Jukka Nykänen. Minna Lindgren and Siljamari Heikinheimo discuss the contents of the book and the relationship between story and music in the opera. What kind of story is appropriate for music to tell? What is the future of opera as an art form?

The concert is organized in collaboration with the Soivat Kirjat concert series and the National Library. The concert is supported by The Jenny and Antti Wihuri Foundation.
