How effective are individual arrangements? Respond to an anonymous survey or participate in an interview
The survey is aimed at charting students’ experiences of individual arrangements so that related services can be developed. You can respond to the survey if you have received or applied for individual arrangements due to a long-term illness, disability or difficulty at the University of Helsinki. You need not have a University recommendation for individual arrangements (for further information, see the Studies Service).
The survey is anonymous and is not intended to identify the respondent. The last day to respond to the survey is 14 November 2024. You don’t have to answer all questions. Instead of completing the survey in one go, you can if preferred use a code to return to the survey at a later date.
The analysed survey results will be used to develop services, processes and systems related to individual arrangements. The responses will be erased following analysis, by the end of 2024. Individual responses will only be processed by specialists responsible for developing individual arrangements. For further information on the grounds of data processing, see the University’s data protection statement. The development measures chosen on the basis of the survey will be communicated in more detail in spring 2025.
Up for an interview?
We are also looking for a few students to share their experiences in an interview. The interview lasts approximately 30 minutes, and participants will receive a fee of €20. The interview can be conducted in English. Survey responses will not be connected to the interviewees.
The interviews will be held from 11 to 22 November 2024. Interview dates and times can be agreed flexibly, and the interviews can be carried out face to face or over a remote connection. On-site interviews will be held in the fourth-floor guidance facilities of Kaisa House (details on the library website). You can indicate the necessary accessibility arrangements on the form or via encrypted email before the interview.
The interviewer is not involved in the implementation of individual arrangements or the provision of related recommendations, nor have they access to information pertaining to individual arrangements. Your health information will not be discussed in the interview, unless you yourself bring it up. With your permission, the interviews will be recorded, but the recordings will be erased following analysis, by the end of 2024. The results will be processed anonymously, with only the interviewer aware of your identity.
While the interview includes some predetermined questions, it can also focus on a perspective of your choice. You can receive the interview questions in advance upon request.
