Apply for a traineeship position in the European Commission

Application period ends on 17 March 2025 at 10:00 (CET)

Are you interested in gaining international work experience? The application period for European Commission’s paid traineeships of five months, beginning in October 2025, is now open. You need to have completed your Bachelor’s degree to be an eligible applicant. Also, only a limited number of places are allocated to non-EU nationals.

This is an excellent opportunity for the students of the Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry! Former trainees work currently for example in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Central Union of Agricultural Producers and Forest Owners (MTK), HKScan, the European Commission, and our Faculty.

You can also contact Senior Specialist Laura Uusitalo (laura.uusitalo@gov.fi) from the EU coordination and International Affairs Unit, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. She wishes to point out the following benefits of the traineeship: “During my traineeship at the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission, I was able to work with topical EU matters. My assignments were interesting and my degree in agronomy was useful. In my experience, EU work experience is appreciated even if one do not end up to work with EU matters permanently, as EU matters have a wide impact.”
