News in Doctoral Education: PhD Survey
From 5-19 March, the University of Helsinki Doctoral School and the University of Helsinki Centre for University Pedagogy (HYPE) are conducting a PhD survey for all doctoral researchers on the stages and challenges of doctoral work. The survey is part of the university's research-based doctoral education development, which aims to better identify the challenges and issues in doctoral studies.
The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete. We hope that as many doctoral researchers as possible will respond to the survey.
Some of the questions in the survey are mandatory. Respondents will only receive feedback on the mandatory questions.
Respondents will receive personal feedback and will see their own answers in relation to the average of all answers after the end of the survey period. In addition, respondents will also receive advice compiled by researchers and experts to support the dissertation process.
The survey and feedback were designed by a team at HYPE, which also analyses all survey responses. The PhD survey is carried out using the UniHow system, which is being developed by the University of Helsinki in collaboration with Funidata.
The University of Helsinki owns the data obtained from the survey and only HYPE researchers have access to the survey data.
The results of the survey will be published in autumn 2025, and the Doctoral School will provide more information on this during the autumn.
