Bulletin 27.3.2025

Finnish society is built on governmental institutions, their division of labour, and operational rules. In many countries, this system is challenged by populism and charismatic leadership. Why are "boring" institutions critically important to people? What is the role of the courts and the judiciary in this structure? How can we maintain people's trust in this system?

Our speaker for the Helsinki Alumni Insight evening is Doctor of Laws Tatu Leppänen, a highly respected Finnish jurist and the President of the Supreme Court. Leppänen has served as a researcher, legislator, and judge in the judiciary throughout his career. The event will be moderated by journalist Satu Sirkiä.
