Italy

By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content. You do not have to select a degree programme to see the Open University's instructions.

Italy offers a rich study environment across historic and modern cities such as Bologna, Bolzano, Milan, Turin, Florence, Trento, Padua, Camerino, Rome, Viterbo, and Parma. Fast trains connect major hubs, and overland links to France, Switzerland, Austria, and Slovenia make European travel straightforward. Everyday life blends world-class art and architecture with lively student scenes. Nature is diverse and accessible: Alps and Dolomites for hiking and skiing, Mediterranean coasts for beaches, and countryside ideal for cycling and day trips. Costs vary by city—Milan and Rome are higher—while many smaller university towns are more affordable, with student discounts for transport, museums, and sports. English is increasingly used in academic settings, but basic Italian helps with housing, administration, and daily interactions.
