Other important matters 

As an exchange student within a university-wide agreement (including EUTOPIA and Nordlys), you can choose courses from several faculties. Course applications are handled by email. You are required to fill out a course application sheet that will be sent to you by email and that you should return by email to your international coordinator no later than May 1 (autumn exchange) or November 1 (spring exchange). Nordlys is a co-operation network behind this student exchange agreement.

  • Journalism, Department of Industrial Design, School of Architecture, Faculty of Performing Arts and the Malmö Art Academy are not open with this agreement
  • Due to high demand at the School of Economics and Management admittance to a full-time course load cannot be guaranteed. This includes courses in Economics, Management and Business. Student who take courses at the School of Economics often take 15 ECTS at that faculty and 15 ECTS at other faculties
  • Engineering, Architecture, Industrial design, Arts and Music require prior studies in the subject and a portfolio

  • A full semester consists of 30 credits. Semesters are divided into periods 1 and 2, each with partperiods
    (A, B, C, D).
  • Courses are typically 7.5, 15, or 30 credits. Check the course period and start date to avoid schedule
    conflicts. Choose 30 ECTS per semester, not more, not less.
  • Most courses are full-time (100%), but part-time paces (50% or 25%) are also available. Semester and period details can be found in each course syllabus.

  • Please note the work load of each course (50 % / 100 %). It's recommended to take one 7,5 ECTS course / each study period. That means in practice studying one 100 % course at a time.
  • As an exchange student at Örebro University you are expected to study full-time (30 ECTS) per semester it is therefore not possible to apply for less than 30 ECTS in order to receive your Letter of Acceptance. You may enroll in a maximum of 45 credits per semester. You need to choose 30 ECTS, regardless of the requirements at your home university.
