For over two decades, he has led pioneering work in evidence-based medicine and shared decision-making. He has developed models grounded in unhurried, meaningful dialogue between doctor and patient, and has emphasized minimally disruptive and burdensome care designed to lessen the workload of treatment in patients’ daily lives.
