Medicine has two main missions: to cure and to care. Yet, modern healthcare systems often prioritize efficiency over empathy.

Professor Victor Montori is a leading voice in ethical and person-centered healthcare. He is the founder of the global movement The Patient Revolution, which calls for careful and kind care for all. For over two decades, he has led pioneering work in evidence-based medicine and shared decision-making. He has developed models grounded in unhurried, meaningful dialogue between doctor and patient, and has emphasized minimally disruptive and burdensome care designed to lessen the workload of treatment in patients’ daily lives.

Victor Montori continues to shape the future of ethical, person-centered care, exploring how new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, can either advance or threaten this goal.
