What happened at The UN Climate Conference? Join Post-COP30 Q&A and reflections event on November 27 to hear insights from participants

The UN Climate Conference is currently taking place in Belém, Brazil. The University of Helsinki is participating in the conference as part of Finland's pavilion. Several representatives from the University are present onsite.

The University representatives attending the climate conference will share their experiences, insights, and lessons learned in an online meeting scheduled for Thursday, November 27, from 8:30 to 10:00 AMJoin us on Teams to hear about the reflections and to discuss and learn more about the COP process.  

All members of the University community are welcome to join the event, including researchers, students, expert and support staff, and anyone interested in the COP process.  

Preliminary agenda

8:30–8:40 – Welcome & Introduction (Elina Tanninen & Anna Lintunen)  

8:40–9:30 – Reflections from COP Participants 

  • Markku Kanninen: Overview of COP30 negotiation outcomes and forest perspectives 
  • Reetta Toivanen: Indigenous and arctic perspectives, just transition 
  • Jarna Pahlberg: Student perspective on COP participation 
  • Hanna Lappalainen: ACCC participation 
  • Yue Pan: Action for Climate Empowerment COP 30 Process, and Navigate UN Climate Change Conference (Bonn, Germany)  

9:30–9:55 – Q&A and Open discussion  

9:55–10:00 – Closing remarks.  

The event will be held in English.
