Opening in November, HELSINKIUNI HELP fulfils the University community’s dearest wish: a single service to help in all matters
The University community is living in exciting times, as a whole new service about to launch will provide answers to all things related to studying and the University.
Once the HelsinkiUni Help service is deployed, you can forget the dozens of email addresses for different services. You can contact HelsinkiUni Help about any matter, and we will work with other advice and support specialists at the University to find a solution.
Digital portal deployed first, on-site service points next year
Although AI is used in some parts of the service, people always advise people in HelsinkiUni Help. In other words, it is not a bot, but an easier way to reach support service specialists.
In the digital HelsinkiUni Help service you can
- Search for content from all major University web services using a single, AI boosted search feature
- Chat with HelsinkiUni Help specialists every weekday from 9.00 to 15.00
- Submit service requests and, later on, follow their progress
HelsinkiUni Help opens on 27 November 2025. After that, you will find HelsinkiUni Help in the top bar of the Studies Service and Flamma, as well as via a direct link at uni-help.helsinki.fi.
Once the service is open, you can also send us traditional email at uni-help@helsinki.fi if needed.
Aside from the digital service, you can meet us in person by visiting the new HelsinkiUni Help on-site service points coming soon to the campuses.
The service points will open in stages, beginning with the City Centre Campus location in Kaisa House.
HelsinkiUni Help is here for all of your everyday problems
HelsinkiUni Help answers any questions you may have. HelsinkiUni Help can assist students with these topics and more:
- Study rights and registration for the academic year
- Using Sisu
- Language and communication studies
- Certificates and signing of documents
- Graduation
- All other questions related to studying: If we don’t know the answer, we will find a solution and appropriate support with you.
To ensure a high level of data protection, questions about individual arrangements for studying will continue to be handled via the separate specialneeds@helsinki.fi.s address. HelsinkiUni Help will nevertheless provide general advice on individual arrangements.
How does HelsinkiUni Help affect other services?
HelsinkiUni Help complements the University’s advice services: for example, the instructions under the Studies Service will remain in use, but you can easily switch to HelsinkiUni Help if you cannot find the answer to your problem in them.
IT Helpdesk will retain its own service address and chat but collaborate closely with HelsinkiUni Help. If you ask HelsinkiUni Help a question that belongs under IT Helpdesk’s remit, we will forward your question to them.
Kaisa House Student Advice and the student advice services for open university education will be part of HelsinkiUni Help. At the same time, the services will undergo minor changes: the Zoom and phone counselling available one day a week will end, as advice will be available through the HelsinkiUni Help chat every weekday.
In connection with the change, the familiar student advice address studentinfo@helsinki.fi and a slew of other service addresses will be discontinued. Have you sent a message to a soon-to-be-discontinued service address? Don’t worry: your message will not be lost on the way, but automatically forwarded to HelsinkiUni Help.
Come and try out the new service – and have a coffee, bun, and a University tote bag while you’re at it
At the beginning of December, HelsinkiUni Help will also be visible on campuses: we are organizing a campus tour from 3 to 11 December, where you can meet HelsinkiUni Help staff, share your thoughts, and try out the new service. Testing will only take a few minutes of your time. Everyone who tries the service will be rewarded with coffee and a bun, redeemable at UniCafe. There will also be some sweet treats and University tote bags available.
The tour will stop at campuses as follows:
- 4 Dec: Kumpula, Physicum lobby, 11:00–15:00
- 5 Dec: Viikki, Infocenter Korona lobby, 11:00–15:00
- 8 Dec: City Centre Campus, Siltavuorenpenger, in front of Minerva square, 11:00–15:00
- 9 Dec: City Centre Campus, Porthania lobby, 11:00–15:00
- 10 Dec: City Centre Campus, Kaisa House lobby, 11:00–15:00
- 11 Dec: Meilahti, Biomedicum 1 lobby, 11:00–15:00
