What Lies Behind Artificial Intelligence? – Join the Discussion at Think Corner on February 10th!

Konesali sinisessä valossa.
Bulletin 28.1.2026

What has enabled the current technological transformation, and what kinds of interdependencies and resource use does it rely on? Does it matter where data centers are located and where microchips are manufactured? These questions will be discussed at Think Corner on Tuesday, February 10th, from 5 PM to 6:30 PM.

Behind today’s technological development are data centers, energy, advanced microchips, and rare earth elements. The AI applications and internet services visible to consumers are made possible by a physical infrastructure closely linked to geopolitics and significant carbon emissions.

The discussion features Professor of Computer Science Jussi Kangasharju, Professor of Technology Policy Vili Lehdonvirta, and Professor of Inorganic Materials Chemistry Mikko Ritala. The event will be moderated by Anna-Sofia Berner.

Join us at Think Corner on Tuesday, February 10th, from 5 PM to 6:30 PM, or follow the live stream.

Venue: Think Corner, Yliopistonkatu 4, Helsinki. The discussion will be held in Finnish.
