Bulletin 10.3.2026

HelsinkiUni Help is the University’s new advice service, which you can contact whenever you need advice related to studies and everyday studies. You can use the service both online and on campus.

We are continuously developing the service: for example, a new feature will allow you to monitor the progress of your service requests. The scope of the AI search has been expanded during the spring, and it now includes content available on the IT Helpdesk and University Library websites as well as the University of Helsinki’s teaching facilities service.

In the HelsinkiUni Help digital service, you can:

  • Search for content from various University online services using a single AI-powered search feature.
  • Chat with specialists every weekday from 9.00 to 15.00.
  • Submit service requests and follow their progress. Service requests are answered on weekdays. You will receive the answer in your email.

HelsinkiUni Help service can be accessed via the top bar of the Studies Service or through a direct link: uni-help.helsinki.fi.

If needed, you can also send UniHelp traditional emails at uni-help@helsinki.fi.

At the HelsinkiUni Help service points you can:

  • Visit when you need personal service.
  • Pick up certificates and other documents (certificates of study, meal-subsidy cards, annual stickers for student cards, etc.).

HelsinkiUni Help’s first service point is located in the entrance hall of Kaisa House (3rd floor, Fabianinkatu 30). Read about the opening hours of the service point in the HelsinkiUni Help digital service portal.

In 2026 service points will also be opened on other campuses. The current student advice service points in Meilahti and Viikki will be open as usual until the new service points are opened. Student advice by appointment will continue to be available in all faculties.

Number of service addresses reduced, aim is to make contacting services easier

Students have previously used several dozens of service addresses in various situations. For example, general and faculty-specific student advice, Examination Services, career and traineeship services and many other services have all had their own service addresses.

During spring 2026 the majority of the old service addresses will be discontinued. The aim is to make contact easier: in the future, you can contact all familiar services through HelsinkiUni Help regardless of the matter in hand.

The service address of the IT Helpdesk (helpdesk@helsinki.fi) will continue to serve alongside HelsinkiUni Help. In addition, some individual service addresses dealing with matters of high confidentiality will be retained, such as specialneeds@helsinki.fi.s, which is used for agreeing on individual arrangements.

The addresses to be discontinued will be replaced in the Studies Service with instructions to turn to HelsinkiUni Help during the spring term in 2026.

Have you sent a message to a soon-to-be-discontinued service address? Don't worry: your message will not be lost but will be automatically forwarded to HelsinkiUni Help.

Do you have questions about the changes? Contact us at HelsinkiUni Help!
