You may have heard about our programmes before, but what are people actually building at the University of Helsinki?

The startup world can sometimes feel full of jargon and buzzwords, but behind all of that are people turning research, personal passions, and everyday observations into real-world solutions. Over the years, our alumni have built ventures that are thoughtful, creative, and deeply connected to the things they care about most: from Deep Tech and AI to sustainability, education, health, culture, agriculture, and social impact.

At our incubators, we support more than just startups. We support ideas with purpose: projects, initiatives, research-based ventures, nonprofits, and companies that aim to create meaningful change in society.

One of the things that makes our community unique is its diversity. We have participants from nearly every faculty at the University of Helsinki, including Arts, Educational Sciences, Law, Theology, Social Sciences, Science, Biological and Environmental Sciences, Agriculture and Forestry, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Veterinary Medicine. Some teams arrive with years of research behind them; others begin with a simple question, an unfinished idea, or a problem they cannot stop thinking about.

So what have they been building? And could this be you?

Over the years, our incubators have become a launchpad for teams looking to turn ideas into something tangible, whether that means a company, a social initiative, or a completely new way of approaching a challenge. Curious to see what previous cohorts have worked on? Take a look at our alumni projects and discover the wide range of ventures that have emerged from our programmes here!

And if you are considering applying, we recommend not waiting until the final day. The earlier you apply, the more time you have to prepare your application and secure your spot. Here's some practicalities about the programme:
