The Universities Act (558/2009) and the Government Decree on University Degrees and Professional Specialisation Programmes (794/2004; amended by decrees 1439/2014 and 1295/2029) provide for professional specialisation education. The principles of professional specialisation programmes have been agreed collaboratively between universities. These standing orders for professional specialisation programmes in pharmacy are based, in addition to the above Act and Decree, on the government decree on fees collected at universities (1082/2009) as well as internal regulations and decisions by the University of Helsinki, including Regulations on Degrees and the Protection of Students’ Rights at the University of Helsinki, Guidelines for degrees and studies at the University of Helsinki (rector’s decision, 13 June 2025), Recognition and validation of learning through credit transfer at the University of Helsinki (rector’s decision, 21 June 2021) and University of Helsinki principles for examinations (rector’s decision, 14 June 2022), including any amendments.

These standing orders contain all regulations, decisions and guidelines to be applied in professional specialisation programmes in pharmacy.
