The right to complete a doctoral degree does not automatically entitle a doctoral candidate to work facilities at the University. Unfortunately, the University is not able to offer office space to all doctoral candidates.
University library services for researchers
Helsinki University Library provides doctoral candidates with the tools and work facilities they need for efficient research work on all four University of Helsinki campuses.
Tuhat and the University Research Portal
Each University of Helsinki doctoral candidate will have an automatically created researcher profile in the University’s public Research Portal once he or she is granted the right to complete a doctoral degree. Researchers can use their profile page as their CV wherever they go.
Publishing, open science and self-archiving
Scholarly publishing is an essential element of doctoral research, whether the doctoral candidate is writing an article-based doctoral thesis or a monograph.
Resources for researchers
This page offers useful links to the University’s internal and external services and resources, divided into topics.
As a student, the University’s extensive variety of learning environments and facilities are at your disposal. This guide features information about these facilities, such as libraries and learning centres.
Flexible ways for language learning
The Language Centre provides flexibility in language studying by offering courses that can be completed fully or partly independently. In addition, valuable tips for autonomous and flexible language learning can be found on this page.
