Updating your personal information and contact details

By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content. You do not have to select a degree programme to see the Open University's instructions.

Change of address

If your address changes, you can change your contact details in Sisu under My profile, or you can notify Student Services by visiting one of its service points.

If you change your address in Sisu, the information is automatically updated in the Helsinki University Library system. The University of Helsinki Student Union also receives its members’ address details directly from Sisu.

In addition, you should notify the Finnish Student Health Service of your new contact details. When moving, you must submit an official notification of change of address to Posti and the Digital and Population Data Services Agency. Read more about submitting a notification of change of address on the Posti website.

Change of name or personal identity code

You must always notify Student Services at Kaisa House of a change of name or personal identity code, either in person or by email.

To do so, you must present your passport, driving licence or official identity card, an extract from the population register or another reliable account of the change. NB! Please do not send certificates or personal details by email unless encrypted. You will always be separately asked for certificates and will receive instructions for encrypted email at the same time.
