By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content. You do not have to select a degree programme to see the Open University's instructions.

HelsinkiUni Help provides general student advice for students on all campuses. Through HelsinkiUni Help, you can also reach your home faculty’s student services when you need more in-depth advice.

Check instructions first

Before contacting us, check whether the answer to your question can be easily found in the instructions. Our advice services receive a lot of questions on basic issues related to, for example, registering for the academic yearusing Sisu, and study rights. By checking the instructions first, you help us avoid overload.

There are also several things you can handle online yourself. Check out for example these:

How to contact student advice

If you cannot find the answer yourself, you can always contact student advice. Choose the contact method that best suits your situation:

  • If you wish to handle matters online, contact us via HelsinkiUni Help regardless of the issue. HelsinkiUni Help will guide you forward even when you need faculty- or programme-specific advice.
  • If you wish to visit a service point without an appointment, you can use the HelsinkiUni Help service point at Kaisa House and the student advice service points in Viikki and Meilahti. See the opening hours below. There is currently no service point in Kumpula.
  • If you need more in-depth advice, you can book an appointment with your home faculty’s student services. When booking, please specify as accurately as possible what your matter concerns. This helps us prepare for the meeting.

Note! Please avoid trying to contact student advice through Sisu. Messages and comments in Sisu are primarily meant for interacting with your PSP instructor.

We can also help you find the right contact person as needed.

The service is operated by Student Advisers who are all international students themselves and have been trained for this role and thus possess the personal experience and professional capacity to help other international students. The service operates in a completely confidential manner concerning students’ personal matters.

The purpose of this new service is to provide a place where all international students can be heard and seen. Write to us at our email address or come say hi at our service desk, and we will be happy to help!
