How can I request a certificate of student status?

By selecting a degree programme you are able to see the general content as well as the possible degree programme-specific content. You do not have to select a degree programme to see the Open University's instructions.

A certificate of student status is a free-of-charge certificate of attendance or non-attendance available to all degree students of the University of Helsinki. You can use the certificate to prove that you are a student at the University of Helsinki if your student card or transcript of studies is not considered sufficient.

The easiest way to obtain a certificate of student status is to order one in Sisu. You can obtain the certificate in Finnish, Swedish or English. For detailed instructions, please see the page Downloading a transcript of studies or a certificate of student status.

If you cannot order an electronically verified certificate of student status in Sisu (e.g., your user account is not valid), you can send a request to Student Advice by email: studentinfo@helsinki.fi. We will send the electronically verified certificate to you by email. When placing an order, be sure to state your student number. You can also order and collect a printed certificate of student status from Student Advice at Kaisa House.
