Sateenkaareva tunnetaitoryhmä Group

  • Face-to-face in Helsinki, free of charge, in Finnish

The Sateenkaareva tunnetaitoryhmä Group is aimed at all LGBTIQA+ higher education students over the age of 18 who are interested in developing their emotional skills through group discussions, creative activities, and mindfulness exercises. In the group, we will address various topics related to emotions and emotional regulation, and we will try to find ways to practice self-regulation, especially in situations that cause minority stress.

The group will meet three times in total from March 25 to April 8, 2025, from 5 PM to 8 PM (3 hours) at the University of Helsinki's Main Library, Kaisa House. The group will have a maximum of 10 participants.

Registration for the group begins on February 24, 2025. More information on Nyytis website (in Finnish).

In the peer support group Sateenkaareva yksinäisyys, there is space for LGBTIQA+ students to reflect on their experiences of loneliness.

  • Online, nationwide, free of charge, in Finnish

Loneliness affects many students. For LGBTIQA+ people, loneliness can also come with its own unique challenges: caution about sharing one's identity, the surrounding cis- and heteronormative assumptions, the feeling of invisibility regarding one’s identity. What does loneliness feel like under the rainbow?

The Sateenkaareva yksinäisyys group is intended for LGBTIQA+ higher education students over the age of 18 who want to reflect on their experiences of loneliness and the emotions associated with it. The group will meet four times over five weeks, for 2 hours at a time. Meetings will take place once a week on Tuesdays via Zoom: April 22, April 27, May 13, and May 20, from 5 PM to 7 PM. The group will have a maximum of 10 participants.

Registration for the group begins on March 24, 2025. More information about the group on Nyytis website.
