Want to build a more sustainable future? The application period for courses in the Sustainability Studies Network runs from 17 to 30 November 2025
The Sustainability Studies Network promotes cooperation among higher education institutions and expands the range of courses offered in sustainability and responsibility. Would you be interested in learning more about, for example, responsible business, AI in society, animal law and policy or sociology of tourism? The 11 universities included in the network offer dozens of courses from different disciplines and degree programmes. Learn more about the courses on the network’s website.
How do I apply?
The second application period for studies offered during the academic year 2025–2026 is open 17–30 November 2025.
The courses are open to all degree students of the network’s higher education institutions who have registered as attending students at their home university. Exchange students are also welcome – courses are offered in Finnish, Swedish and English.
- If you want to participate in a course organised by the University of Helsinki, please register for the course as usual in Sisu.
- If you want to participate in a course organised by a partner university, please register for the course through the network’s website.
- If you complete a course organised by a partner university, you can apply for the credits to be transferred to your degree at the University of Helsinki.

The Sustainability Studies Network comprises of 10 universities in addition to the University of Helsinki: University of Eastern Finland, University of Jyväskylä, Kajaani University of Applied Sciences, LAB University of Applied Sciences, University of Lapland, University of Oulu, Tampere University, University of Vaasa, and the Vaasa University of Applied Sciences. The network is coordinated by the University of Eastern Finland.
