Application for additional study time becomes chargeable from January 1, 2025, an increase also in the re-enrolment fee – government decree in the background
Starting from January 1, 2025, a processing fee of €50 will be charged for applications to extend the study right. At the same time, the re-enrollment fee, charged in connection to a belated annual registration for the academic year, will rise from €35 to €50.
The decision to implement the new fees was not made by the University. The changes are due to the government decree 199/2024 (Finlex, the link leads to a Finnish-language page), which obliges the universities to start collecting these fees at the beginning of the year.
The new charges apply to all applications submitted on or after 1 January 2025. Information on how to make the payment will be updated in the instructions related to re-enrolment and extension applications on the Studies Service before the end of the year.
