You can apply for funding for international exchange, which lasts up to one year from the International Education Services.
Your chances of receiving funding from the International Education Services depend on your employment status at the University of Helsinki. Tax authorities do not allow an institution to pay a salary and a scholarship to the same person for the same time period.
If you are working on your doctoral dissertation under an employment contract with the University of Helsinki, you can apply for
- Erasmus+ teacher exchange (business trip of up to one week)
- guidance about teacher exchange: staffexchange@helsinki.fi
If you are not employed by the University of Helsinki, you can apply for
- Erasmus+ traineeships abroad, duration 5-30 days or 2-6 months
- short course scholarships for Erasmus+ blended intensive programme participants and freemover short courses
- student exchange of 2-12 months with a grant from the International Education Services. You can find more information via the links below:
- freemover scholarships, duration 2-12 months
- guidance: studentexchange@helsinki.fi, and on the page International Education Services
Most of the international visits of doctoral researchers take place with other funding mechanisms than funding from the International Education Services, i.e. for example, travel grants from the doctoral school or with funding from scholarship foundations.
